A new Bolivian restaurant opened on Columbia Pike last month.

El Tutumaso moved from a location in Falls Church to the former Sauca Restaurant space at 4707 Columbia Pike. The building also once housed a second Bob & Edith’s Diner location.

The restaurant serves Bolivian cuisine like parrillada (mixed grill), pollo campeon (roasted chicken) and salteña (savory baked empanadas). El Tutumaso is open seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The restaurant held its grand opening on Nov. 10.

In related news, the parking lot next door now has a “For Sale” sign reading “Development Opportunity” or similar. I wonder how long this has…

As long as it doesn’t put Cafe Sazon out of business… (please please please please please please!!)

    • ADCthree

+1 Love Cafe Sazon … authentic, cheap and delicious!

Has anyone been here; are the saltenas good?

  • SoArl

Oh, yiippeee – another chicken and saltenas restaurant. Because there are not enough within a five mile radius of this place.

Maybe they can make saltenas and chicken flavored froyo?

  • Josh S

I heard the opening over/under line for months in business was 14.

South Arlington news? Seesh. I couldn’t care less about these poor people and their new eateries.

      NOVASTEVE THAT YOU?

      oh slow down Rockefeller!

    • Anti-elitist

“I couldn’t care less about these poor people and their new eateries.” Because the bland lackluster culinary ineptitude of North Arlington is newsworthy? Erect as many Pinkberry’s as you want–you are still a DC suburb.

I assume none of you have heard of sarcasm.

This picture is showing the prediction for this restaurant – empty!
Another blighted substandard restaurant here we come. At least they are west of glebe road, though….
