Harris Teeter marks Ballston grand opening with free sampling event as old location closes

When one Harris Teeter shuts its doors, another one springs up.

At least that’s the case today (Tuesday), as the new Harris Teeter in Ballston is set to open its doors at 3 p.m. The store holding a “Taste of Teeter” sampling event until 7 p.m. to mark the grand opening.

At the same time, the neighboring location at 600 N. Glebe Road will shutter permanently once the ribbon is cut for the new store.

The event is open to everyone, offering complimentary food samples and live music, according to a press release. Customers can attend other tasting events throughout the week, earn double fuel points and more, as part of the opening, per the release.

The grocery chain announced the opening of the new store at 624 N. Glebe Road, nestled beneath 310 newly built apartment units, following its application for an occupancy permit last month.
