A Cuban cafe and bar is the latest storefront set to open under a new apartment complex in Crystal City.
The grand opening of Colada Shop’s latest location — at 244 19th Court S., on the street level of The Grace and Reva apartments — is scheduled this coming Monday, Sept. 9.
Promotions will be held throughout next week to celebrate the opening.
- Monday: The first 50 guests to make a purchase will receive a free tote bag
- Wednesday: Diners will receive a free House Spritzer with the purchase of an entree during lunch
- Friday: Diners who order a cocktail during happy hour will receive a free empanada
- Sunday: Kids face painting from 3-5 p.m.
Founded in 2016 as a spot for Cuban coffee, Colada Shop also offers a variety of traditional Latin dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast sandwiches are complemented by Caribbean-style pastries, while other sandwiches, empanadas and croquetas are available for an afternoon bite.
Colada Shop joins several eateries that have opened in the new retail space in recent months. Van Leeuwen and Tatte Bakery & Cafe both opened their doors nearby earlier this summer, while two dine-in restaurants — Bar Chinois and Bar Colline — are expected to open between in the coming months.
The Crystal City location is Colada Shop’s seventh storefront, following a new spot in Clarendon that opened in March. While specific hours are not yet available, most other locations are open daily from 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
