‘Pi BBQ and Bar’ opens near Restaurant Row with Korean cuisine

A new Korean barbecue restaurant has opened for business near Crystal City’s Restaurant Row with grilling options aplenty.

Pi BBQ and Bar, located at 420 23rd Street S., promises “an extensive menu featuring premium cuts of meat, fresh seafood and a variety of traditional Korean dishes” in a modern atmosphere. The restaurant replaces a vacancy left by the Chinese restaurant Young Chow in 2023.

Pi can seat 88 guests for tableside grilling

  • Pi’s barbecue menu includes over two dozen meat, seafood and vegetable options, including scallops, garlic ox tongue, sweet potato and beef chuck roll.
  • “We’re Korean barbecue, but with a little bit higher quality meats,” co-owner Scott Goodson told ARLnow. “We’ve got American wagyu and A5 Japanese wagyu, Berkshire pork — some really top quality meats.”
  • The restaurant is equipped with personal grills at each table and a granite bar, which plans to offer beer, wine, soju and other spirits starting this Saturday.

It opens at 11:30 a.m. daily

  • New specials include a $116 “signature set” for two people that comes with American wagyu and three other beef cuts along with a side dish, mushrooms and dessert.
  • An ongoing promotion offers customers one free, chilled coconut drink in exchange for a post on social media.
  • Pi BBQ and Bar is open until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
