Snow Thursday morning could lead to slippery conditions, forecasters say.
A Winter Weather Advisory was just issued for Arlington and much of the D.C. area. Only an inch of snow is expected, but it could lead to hazardous driving on local roads.

Kids Rob Business in Pentagon City — “Police said they were looking for a group of young people involved in a robbery that took place in Pentagon City on Saturday, the youngest of whom may have been five years old.” [DC News Now]
Guns Seized at DCA — “On Friday, TSA stopped a man from McGaheysville, Virginia, who was in possession of a 9mm handgun loaded with six bullets along with six additional accessible bullets in a gun magazine, according to reports. Hope’s Governance Bill Moves Forward — The House of Delegates on Tuesday accepted a legislative amendment from the Virginia Senate, pushing back to 2026 final consideration of legislation by Del. Patrick Hope (D-1) to allow referendums on changes to Arlington’s form of government. The Senate added a “re-enactment clause” that would require the measure to pass again next year in order to become law. –Scott McCaffrey

A pair of Arlington men are each facing a felony charge for alleged violent incidents over the weekend.
The first happened Friday afternoon in the Arlington Heights neighborhood, just south of Route 50. Police say two men got into a verbal dispute that escalated to one attacking the other with a pocketknife.

Joan (Schaffer) Graver, 77, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away in January. Born and raised in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Schaffer, a graduate of Allen High School, United Wesleyan College and Georgetown University.
Joan was a banker, early hospice care provider and substitute teacher. She loved being outside, traveling and celebrating the holidays along with spending time with her grandchildren and the children of her neighborhood. Joan is survived by her husband Bill of 55 years, son, daughter, grandsons and granddaughter.

Latest on Crash Investigation — “A preliminary analysis of the flight data and voice recorder on board a Black Hawk helicopter leading up to the collision with a commercial flight over Washington, DC, on January 29, indicated the helicopter’s altimeter may have been inaccurate and the pilots may not have heard some calls from the Reagan National Airport control tower, officials said.” [CNN, Washington Post]
Clarendon Post Office Closing at Night — “A USPS Post Office in Clarendon is locking up the building overnight because of concerns related to homelessness. The post office said it’s had to address a number of sanitary and safety issues, prompting flyers on the facility’s doors to state the building will close from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day… The U.S. Postal Service said people experiencing homelessness have been urinating, defecating and starting fires at that location.” [DC News Now]

Officer Assaulted in Pentagon City — “Two juvenile female suspects entered the business, concealed merchandise and exited the store without payment. Responding officers observed the suspects exit the business and attempted to take them into custody. More than 3,000 homes and businesses were without power Sunday evening amid continued strong winds.
As of 5:30 p.m., Dominion reported 3,087 customers without power in Arlington County. That number had been growing as gusty winds fell trees and branches around the area.

Police are on scene of a shooting at a Crystal City apartment building.
Two people were wounded and taken to local hospitals, including a teen boy with critical injuries, according to Arlington County police. The shooting happened during a party at the Crystal Towers Apartments at 1600 S. Eads Street, according to initial reports, prompting numerous people to flee.
