Give some love to Arlington’s newest Pet of the Week, Maggie the Cat. This 7-year-old rescue was adopted by her dad earlier this year.

Although she came from a bad situation, she’s an affectionate and chill cat — until she gets the post-dinner “zoomies.”

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was just issued for Arlington and parts of the D.C. area.

Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church and Fairfax County are among the Northern Virginia locales under the watch, which is in effect until 8 p.m.

President Joe Biden and Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe will be holding a “grassroots event” near Ballston on Friday.

The campaign event is being held at Lubber Run Park, next to the new Lubber Run Community Center (300 N. Park Drive). Gates are slated to open at 5 p.m. for members of the public who RSVPed online to attend.

We received more votes this past week than for any other individual Arlies category so far. It turns out there are a lot of dentists in Arlington — and also a lot of people who like their dentist enough to vote for them.

Man Arrested After Fleeing onto Metro Tracks in Pentagon City

(Updated at 9:15 a.m.) A theft suspect in Pentagon City ran onto the tracks Sunday afternoon, causing major delays for riders.

The theft was reported around 2 p.m., from a store on the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street, a block that includes the Pentagon City mall and the Pentagon Centre shopping center.

A plane crash in California wine country has claimed the lives of three people, including an Arlington couple.

Shauna and James Waite, who lived near Yorktown High School, were killed when their small plane crashed in a vineyard in Napa County on Friday morning.

County Board Votes to Replace ‘Lee Highway’ Name

Lee Highway is no more in Arlington. It’s now Langston Blvd.

The County Board voted unanimously on Saturday to rename Route 29 within Arlington’s borders, following the recommendation of a Working Group (and county staff) on a new name.
