A new cafe with in-house coffee roasting and imaginative decor is getting ready to open in Cherrydale next month.

Good Trouble Roasters is approaching the final stages of construction at 3800 Langston Blvd, owner Mike Greiner told ARLnow. Signage is up and the interior appears close to ready, but he said he’ll still need a few more weeks to open.

ZIP code in Westover area climbs to the top of Arlington’s wealth rankings

A ZIP code on the western end of Arlington has one of the highest concentrations of wealth in the entire D.C. area, by one metric.

The 22205 ZIP code, home to neighborhoods including Westover Village, Tara-Leeway Heights, Madison Manor and Dominion Hills, was named the wealthiest in Arlington in a new ranking by the Washington Business Journal.

Arlington’s new ‘microtransit’ program has provided 1,500 rides since April

A new transit program serving parts of Arlington with limited bus access has largely been connecting riders to Ballston and East Falls Church, data shows.

Arlington’s “microtransit” pilot initiative has provided about 1,500 on-demand rides since it launched in April, Katie O’Brien, spokesperson for Arlington’s Department of Environmental Services, told ARLnow. About 50% of these were near the Metro stations in either Ballston (27%) or East Falls Church (23%).

The family-owned Italian restaurant is in the process of relocating from its longtime location at 1801 Clarendon Blvd, which closed in late May, to the former home of Mazaro at 2909 Wilson Blvd.

Tatiana Pizza is in the process of soft opening at 3610 Langston Blvd, serving up steaming slabs of its signature 32-inch pies alongside dishes like chicken alfredo, eggplant parmesan and Italian cold cut subs.

Live blues and rock music is coming to Columbia Pike next month, courtesy of Acme Pie Co.

The Bike & Music Fest will return to 2406 Columbia Pike on Saturday, Sept. 19. Pastry chef Sol Schott has been hosting some version of this event at least once a year for about a decade, but he has locked in some bigger names this year as he hosts the event in a field next to Acme Pie.

A taqueria and margarita bar has closed its doors in Ballston, with plans to reopen next month as a brewpub.

Solace Outpost is taking over the El Rey space at 4201 Wilson Blvd, swapping out tacos, quesadillas and signature cocktails for bar fare and beers from Solace Brewing Company.

After a cross-country journey and a recent brush with animal control, a man who arrived in Arlington with three goats finally made it to D.C.

However, he didn’t stay for long and he only has two goats with him now.

One Central Library entrance closes for $2.3M project to prevent flooding

One entrance to Central Library has temporarily closed, kicking off several months of renovations to stop water from getting into the building and its parking garage.

The public entrance to the library on N. Quincy Street closed last week and is currently fenced off. Much of the patio has been torn up into piles of bricks as the $2.3 million project, first approved in the county’s 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), gets underway.

ICE agents reportedly injure man in Arlington, prompting outcry from officials

A man’s account of being badly injured in an encounter with immigration agents in Arlington has prompted condemnation from local elected officials and Arlington’s congressman.

Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.), Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti and Arlington County Board Chair Matt de Ferranti have all released statements on the case of José Mejía Hernandez. The Mexican immigrant has told multiple media outlets that immigration enforcement approached him on his way to a bus stop last week and shocked him with a stun gun when he tried to run.
