A vehicle wheel repair business was heavily damaged by a fire over the weekend.

Firefighters were dispatched to the Green Valley neighborhood around 9:30 p.m. Friday after several people called 911 to report a building on fire.


Greater housing density and more public open space are included in a new development proposal for a Pentagon City shopping area.

Proposed changes to the Pentagon Centre Development Site Plan (PDSP), slated for consideration at a Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, call for an additional 1,195 residential units and 333,300 more square feet of office space. A new “pocket park,” expanded recreation areas and an interim public space are also included in possible revisions to the redevelopment plan last modified in 2015.


Arlington’s Congressional delegation made headlines over the weekend amid the ongoing intra-party debate over President Joe Biden’s reelection prospects and mental fitness.

First came the news on Friday that Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) was organizing “a group of Democratic senators to ask President Biden to exit the presidential race,” as reported by the Washington Post. Last night, however, Axios reported that a planned meeting of senators today was called off.

Arlington’s Water Vulnerability — “[Last] week’s extensive boil water advisory for all of D.C. and most of Arlington, Virginia, demonstrated a major vulnerability in the national capital region’s drinking water supply. ‘They’re 100% dependent on one source,’ said Michael Nardolilli, executive director of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin. Standoff After Pistol Whipping — “The male suspect and male victim were involved in a verbal dispute inside a residential building during which the suspect allegedly produced what was believed to be a firearm and struck the victim with it. The victim was treated on scene by medics for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect remained inside the residential building and initially refused officers’ commands to exit the building. Police are investigating another reported theft at Clarendon’s Lululemon store — at least the fourth since mid-June and the third in as many days.

Four male suspects reportedly entered the store, located at 2847 Clarendon Blvd, just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday and gathered merchandise before leaving the store without paying, an Arlington County police spokesperson said.


Arlington County police are investigating a police-involved shooting in Rosslyn.

The shooting happened near the intersection of N. Lynn Street and 19th Street N. around 11:30 a.m.

More on Boil Water Advisory — “Algae is to blame for the advisory that impacted vast swaths of the Metro area, including all of the District of Columbia and much of northern Virginia early today. Arlington County police are investigating a somewhat unusual road rage incident in Rosslyn.

It happened Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Key Blvd and N. Nash Street. According to police, two male drivers “were stopped in their vehicles at a stop sign when they became involved in a verbal dispute.” The suspect then allegedly threw a can at the other driver, reached into his car and stole his phone, before driving off.

Clarendon’s Lululemon store was hit by thieves twice Monday, separated by only a matter of hours, according to police.

Arlington County police responded to the store at 2847 Clarendon Blvd just after 5 p.m. after two women in their teens or 20s had entered the store, gathered up merchandise, and left without paying, a police spokeswoman said.


Arlington’s visitors spent $4.5 billion in the county last year according to a new study, eclipsing a pre-pandemic record by nearly $100 million.

The county’s 7.1 million visitors in 2023 spent record-breaking sums on transportation, food and drink, hospitality, recreation and retail, according to a study conducted by economic forecaster Tourism Economics.
