Damages from a burst pipe at Arlington County’s government headquarters have caused several public meetings to relocate and reduced hours at Courthouse Library.

Flooding at 2100 Clarendon Blvd resulted in “extensive water damage to portions of multiple floors of the Bozman Government Center, including the Arlington County Board Room,” county spokesperson Ryan Hudson told ARLnow.

Renovations are coming to the Association of the U.S. Army’s headquarters in Courthouse, bringing sidewalk closures starting this week.

Pedestrian traffic on a portion of sidewalk near 2425 Wilson Blvd will be closed as the 32-week project gets underway. To perform structural repairs and improve below-ground waterproofing, work crews will be temporarily removing the sidewalk, planters and the building’s accessibility ramp.

Respondents have until Sunday, March 2 to provide feedback on a new concept design for the “mobility hub” near the Court House Metro station. Offering casual “American and Mexican food” at affordable prices, Wilson Great Eats is currently soft opening at 2057 Wilson Blvd, next to Brooklyn Bagel Bakery. The restaurant is owned by the same family that previously operated California Tortilla, employees told ARLnow.

With a vibrant, surfer-inspired atmosphere and tagline, “Welcome to Pineappleland,” Playa Bowls is bringing treats packed with fresh fruit to 2055 15th Street N. It is the company’s first Arlington location, joining nearby outposts in Alexandria, Fairfax and D.C.

A woman suffered significant injuries after driving into the side of a building in the Clarendon area Monday evening.

The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. at the Courtland Park apartment building on the 2500 block of Clarendon Blvd, roughly between the Clarendon and Courthouse Metro stations.

A vehicle illegally parked in front of the Rosslyn fire station led to a delayed response to a crash last night — the latest example of parking issues along one of Arlington’s busiest corridors.

Following a call about a crash with injuries shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, Fire Engine 110 notified dispatch that it could not leave the station at 1535 Wilson Blvd.

A forthcoming rooftop restaurant and bar in Courthouse aims to serve classic American meals in a fun, relaxed setting.

The previously unnamed restaurant at 2424 Wilson Blvd is called Rooftop Recess, and its menu will feature “expertly handcrafted cocktails and outstanding American cuisine,” according to its website. The restaurant expects to open in early 2025.

Arlington’s last California Tortilla closed in Courthouse late last month, as another restaurant is reportedly lined up to replace it.

The fast-casual Tex-Mex restaurant closed its doors Nov. 30, according to a storefront message at 2057 Wilson Blvd, next to Brooklyn Bagel Bakery. The Bethesda-based restaurant opened in Courthouse 20 years ago.

A man who tried unsuccessfully to shoplift from the Ballston area Harris Teeter later flashed a gun, prompting a large police response.

The alleged incident happened just after 11 p.m. last night (Tuesday) at the grocery store on the 600 block of N. Glebe Road.
