It’s going to be a rainy Wednesday — so much so that a Flood Watch has been issued for Arlington and part of the region.
Despite some light sprinkles this morning, the bulk of the rain is expected later this afternoon and could include some heavy downpours.
Arlington is facing a flood of questions about stormwater management around Lubber Run.
The county postponed a public meeting about potential flood mitigation measures in the watershed, originally scheduled for last Wednesday, “due to staff needing more time to respond to last minute community requests,” Stormwater Outreach Manager Aileen Winquist told ARLnow.
Construction has begun on a replacement for two bridges destroyed in flash flooding back in 2019.
The main section of the new pedestrian bridge to span Lubber Run arrived yesterday (Tuesday) at 300 N. Park Drive. Work on the site, which began in February, is expected to wrap up sometime between July and September, county spokesperson Jerry Solomon said.
