It’s happening: Andy’s Pizza is opening in Virginia Square tomorrow (Friday), the pizzeria announced on social media last night.
After over a year in the making, the acclaimed D.C.-area pizza shop’s newest outpost — and first Arlington location — is ready for business at 901 N. Pollard Street.
The grand opening is this weekend
- “The cat’s out of the bag: Ballston will officially be open THIS Friday!” Andy’s wrote on Instagram. “It’s been a long road but we are absolutely stoked after tonight’s small gathering of family and friends. We can’t wait to welcome you into your new favorite local pizza shop.”
- After originally shooting for a late March opening, Andy’s teased last week that it was coming “soon-ish.”
- Over the weekend, customers who buy any six pack or bottle of wine will receive two free slices of pizza to celebrate.

It’s award-winning pizza
- The pizzeria’s claim to fame are its New York-style pies, which have received local and international acclaim in recent years.
- Andy’s cheese pizza captured first place in the traditional division at the annual 2021 International Pizza Challenge in Las Vegas.
- It’s also a favorite of local media, receiving praise in Northern Virginia Magazine, Washington City Paper and The Washington Post.
The shop replaces Ballston Place Gourmet deli, which closed about two years ago.
