A Nashville-style fried chicken and smash burger chain is almost ready to open its latest location on N. Glebe Road.
Nash & Smashed, a rapidly growing D.C.-area chain, has had signage up at the Buckingham Center since this time last year. It’s now set to hold a soft opening in about two weeks, with a grand opening to come later on, chief operating officer Lamaan Malik told ARLnow.
“Once we see the kitchen is synchronized, the staff is synchronized, everything is going smooth, everything the way we want them to go, then we will go towards grand opening,” Malik said.
The fast food spot offers classic fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, smash burgers and non-alcoholic mojitos. It had originally aimed to open at 310 N. Glebe Road, in the former Boost Mobile retail bay, last summer.
The restaurant offers a few different types of smash burgers, like the “Beast Burger,” which has turkey bacon, onion strings, pickles, cheddar cheese and lettuce, as well as the “Farm House Burger” with fried egg, cheddar cheese, tomato, onion strings, lettuce and a signature “smash sauce.”
“People’s favorite are the smash burgers because everything we source is local. Everything we source is fresh,” Malik said.
Chicken sandwich offerings include a honey butter flavor with cheese and signature sauce, as well as an “Original Nashville Sandwich,” with pickles and house-made coleslaw. The “Nash & Smashed Sandwich” combines both concepts, with a burger patty and a Nashville chicken patty on the same bun.
All chicken sandwich and smash burger options are priced between $8-11, according to the website. Nash & Smashed also offers peach, mango, passion fruit and strawberry mocktail mojitos for $5 each.
The storefront was being deep-cleaned on Wednesday before a final inspection.
“Our Instagram currently is flooded with messages from Arlington people,” Malik said. “They’re asking ‘when will you open?’ I’m pretty much hopeful that [the inspection is] gonna go good.”
Nash & Smashed opened its first location in Manassas in 2024 and has been expanding quickly. It currently operates 26 restaurants across six states and D.C., in addition to an overseas location in Australia.
Another Nash & Smashed opened at 2333 S. Eads Street in Crystal City in 2025.
