Plans to open a Crumbl Cookies location at the Lee Harrison Shopping Center have, well, crumbled.
The national cookie chain is no longer moving into 2439 N. Harrison Street off Langston Blvd, a leasing agent for the property manager told ARLnow. It would have filled the space formerly of an urgent care, which moved to a larger space in the shopping strip.
Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo is one of three new businesses coming to the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City later this summer.
The fast fashion brand known for its minimalist style and simplistic wardrobe pieces will be next to Macy’s on the mall’s first level, according to a press release.

New Condo Project Near Rosslyn — “A relatively new entrant to the Greater Washington real estate world plans to redevelop the Air & Space Forces Association’s headquarters site in Arlington with luxury condos carrying an international hotel brand. Taicoon Property Partners LLC plans to tear down the existing building at 1501 Langston Blvd. and build a 94-unit residential building, branded by an unnamed ‘major, international top-tier hotel company,’ according to a conceptual site plan application filed June 25.” [Washington Business Journal]
Women Rob Store With Kids in Tow — “1600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 12:09 a.m. on June 25… two female suspects entered the business with two children, collected items and left the store without payment. When confronted by an employee, one of the suspects pushed and spat at the employee. The suspects then entered a vehicle and threw an object, believed to be a glass bottle, at the store’s door causing property damage, and fled the scene in a silver SUV.” [ACPD]
Beyer Continues Renaming Quest — “So far, Robert E. Lee is winning the battle. But U.S. Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) is insistent he won’t win the war. Legislation from Beyer to remove the Confederate general’s name from the National Park Service’s Arlington House national monument now has 138 cosponsors. Brown Planetarium, laying out rights and responsibilities of each party to the partnership. Missing Middle advocates are celebrating a win after the Democratic nomination of JD Spain Sr. for Arlington County Board.
Spain was one of two Democratic contenders supporting the Expanded Housing Option in a race partly defined by debate over housing policy. He and the other candidate defending Missing Middle, Tenley Peterson, together captured 56% of first-choice votes in the primary last week.
