Holding an early lead then making a bit of a fourth-quarter rally wasn’t enough for the Washington-Liberty Generals as the squad fell to the host Robinson Rams in non-district girls basketball action.
The Generals (1-2) lost the Monday (Dec. 9) high-school game 36-29 to undefeated Robinson (4-0), the defending champions of the 6D North Region and Patriot District tournaments.
The beginning and end of the basketball game were good for the Yorktown Patriots in a comeback victory over the Madison Warhawks.

Rados, 19, died in a fatal crash the morning of Saturday, Oct. 12 along the 2200 block of N. Harrison Street in Arlington’s Tara-Leeway Heights neighborhood. A car being driven northbound by an 18-year-old Arlington resident, in which Rados was a passenger, struck several parked vehicles and overturned, according to Arlington County police.

(Updated at 2:05 p.m.) A group of Kenmore Middle School students allegedly attacked a student from another school after a basketball game yesterday.
Police were flagged down around 4:55 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of S. Carlin Springs Road and 2nd Street S. for a report of a fight. They found a student bleeding from the nose, according to scanner traffic, and were told by witnesses that he was assaulted by a group of Kenmore students.
(Updated at 7:30 p.m.) Braylon Meade’s classmates would know he was already seated by whether his basketball shoes were outside the door.
“He’d get up at 5 a.m. and after a workout, go to class at 7:30. Everyone said he would smell horrible. He would leave his shoes outside the classroom because he smelled so bad,” his teammate, James McIntyre, said with a laugh.
