The former space of a D.C.-based pizzeria remains vacant in Rosslyn after the restaurant closed over the summer.

A few months after &pizza’s closure at 1800 N. Lynn Street, the restaurant’s kitchenware and checkered tiles can still be seen inside. Recent permits do not indicate a new tenant at the property, which houses several other restaurants, including Nando’s Peri-Peri Chicken, sweetgreen, Happy Eatery food hall and McDonald’s.

Three suspects were apprehended this morning after an armed robbery at a local CVS store.

The robbery happened around 6:45 a.m., at the CVS next to the Courthouse Metro station. Initial reports suggest one of the suspects pulled a knife on a CVS employee before fleeing with stolen items.

Site plans for a proposed trio of Rosslyn residential towers with 862 apartments and condos were filed on Tuesday.

The One Rosslyn project would replace a pair of office buildings built in the 1960s at 1901 and 1911 Fort Myer Drive.

CoStar Group announced a deal today (Friday) to expand its presence in a Rosslyn office building as it moves forward with relocation plans.

The company, which announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from D.C. to Arlington in February, expects to relocate in early 2025, according a press release.


Events

One of the largest marathon races in the country is returning to Arlington this weekend with planned road closures and festivities.

On Sunday, the 49th Marine Corps Marathon — dubbed “The People’s Marathon” — will kick off at 7:55 a.m. at Route 110, between the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.

An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with raping a woman in a Rosslyn area apartment last year.

The crime happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 29, 2023, after police say an “unknown male suspect gained entry to the victim’s residence, entered her bedroom… then raped the victim before fleeing the residence on foot.”

A forthcoming pizza restaurant in Rosslyn plans to serve up Roman-style pies of the rectangular variety.

Ravenna Pizza advertises a menu with 13 varieties of sharp-cornered pizza, alongside salads, homemade gelato and Italian desserts. Owner Mustafa Durran plans to open in the former spot of Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop at 1500 Wilson Blvd by early to mid-January.

Arlington has released the final design for a proposed overhaul of Gateway Park, featuring expanded dog parks, more tree cover and a new bridge.

Other elements include two play areas, “social groves” surrounded by natural landscaping and a large lawn with an event pavilion.


Around Town

A local restaurant has plans to serve free breakfast tacos in Rosslyn next week for National Taco Day.

District Taco says it will park its original taco truck at the intersection of Wilson Blvd and N. Lynn Street at 8 a.m. next Friday, Oct. 4. The Arlington-founded company will serve one taco per customer while supplies last — most likely until 10 a.m., the restaurant predicts.
