A Jersey Mike’s and a new CVS Pharmacy are in the works on Columbia Pike.
Both businesses are expected to open on the ground floor of Westmont Apartments at the corner of the Pike and S. Glebe Road, alongside other planned establishments including a Five Guys and a cosmetic studio.
The Jersey Mike’s is scheduled to open in December at 3252 Columbia Pike, a construction contractor told ARLnow. The national sandwich chain, which opened its other Arlington location in Clarendon this summer, still needs to install kitchen equipment and pass inspections, he said.
A permit for a new CVS has also appeared in the storefront window of 3301 Columbia Pike, about half a mile from the existing CVS location near Penrose Square. The new site is on track to open early next year, a representative from developer Republic Properties confirmed.
Meanwhile, a Five Guys is still scheduled to open at 3263 Columbia Pike. The burger-and-fries chain — which opened its first location in the former Westmont Shopping Center before it was redeveloped as Westmont Apartments — received electrical and commercial permits for the site in July.
Finally, a Waxing The City location is in the works at 3255 Columbia Pike. The new retail tenants are expected to join an AllCare medical clinic that opened at 925 S. Glebe Road about eight months ago — filling five of Westmont Apartments’ six retail bays.
The 250-unit apartment building opened in July 2023 after the old shopping center was demolished in late 2021.
