Twins Ace Hardware plans to open in Crystal City next month

An Ace Hardware store is opening soon in Crystal City.

Arlington’s second Twins Ace Hardware is preparing to soft open at 2051 S. Bell Street on Tuesday, April 7, owner Jeff Smith told ARLnow. This will be followed by a three-day grand opening with “swag, gift bags, giveaways, and plenty of surprises” from May 29-31.

“Customers can expect a thoughtfully curated selection of household essentials, giftable items, plants, paint, grills, and more — all supported by the kind of personalized service that Jeff’s Ace Hardware team is known for,” Smith said. “The goal is to create a convenient, welcoming space where the community can find both everyday necessities and unique finds.”

The new shop, which initially targeted a fall 2025 opening when it was announced last June, will take up more than 8,000 square feet on the ground floor at The Zoe apartments.

Smith is a second-generation Ace Hardware owner and operator. This is his second Ace location, joining a Courthouse store that opened in 2016 at 2001 Clarendon Blvd.

“Opening Twins Ace in National Landing was about more than continuing a family legacy — it was about creating a place where the community feels at home,” Smith said back in June. “Twins Ace is so much more than a hardware store. We’ve worked hard to build a neighborhood destination where people can find everything from tools and paint to unique gifts, party supplies, plants and more.”

Hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

The hardware shop joins a growing retail and dining landscape in the neighborhood, including nearby Paris Baguette, Daydrift Cafe and Whole Foods Market, as well as new Water Park vendors Monstera Burrito and Spot of Tea.
