After about a year of preparations, a Nashville-inspired burgers-and-fries franchise is seeking to open soon in the Buckingham neighborhood.
Nash & Smashed aims to open next month at 310 N. Glebe Road, serving up hot chicken, sandwiches and smash burgers, Chief Operating Officer Lamaan Malik told ARLnow. The restaurant, which replaces a former Boost Mobile, will have seating for 25 guests and will stay open late throughout the week.
The franchise’s menu features a variety of halal fried chicken, loaded smash burgers, milkshakes and “mojito”-style mocktails, accompanied by Southern sides like cornbread and mac and cheese.
Five signature chicken sandwiches include the “Original Nashville” with hot chicken, a Nashville-style sauce, pickles and house slaw, as well as the “Honey Butter Buzz” with honey butter and American cheese on brioche.
Nash & Smashed is still awaiting some county approvals in the Buckingham area but will likely open in June, Malik said. The new location is the business’s second in Arlington, joining a Crystal City spot that opened last year at 2333 S. Eads Street.
The restaurant will be in close quarters with a similar halal burgers-and-fries spot, Jon’s Joint, which opened across the street last year. The Buckingham Center is also home to the longtime eateries Thai Curry, Ravi Kabob and Eastern Carryout.
Nash & Smashed, a D.C.-area chain, has opened dozens of spots on the East Coast in recent years, as well as overseas locations in Australia and the U.K. According to the brand’s webpage, more locations are currently being mapped out in Alexandria, D.C. and Maryland.
Planned store hours are 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-2 a.m., Friday and Saturday.
