An 18-year-old Arlington man and several teen boys have been charged in connection to a pair of linked incidents earlier this week, including a shot fired near Ballston.

Around noon on Tuesday a male victim was robbed of clothes in the stairwell of a parking garage on the 600 block of N. Glebe Road — which corresponds with the Ballston mall garage. The man and two teens were later arrested and face several charges, according to Arlington County police.

Gunfire prompted a large police response to Wakefield High School over the weekend.

Officers were dispatched around 7 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man who fired a shot into the air on school grounds.

A teen boy and an 18-year-old woman are facing serious charges after a pair of robberies Wednesday afternoon.

The robberies happened near western end of Columbia Pike in Arlington. In the first, around 3:15 p.m., two ski-mask-wearing suspects approached a boy, demanded cash, and seriously injured him when he refused.

A group trying to jump the Metro turnstiles in Pentagon City assaulted an officer and led police on a series of foot chases Tuesday night.

The wild incident started around 7 p.m., when Arlington County police were dispatched for as many as eight people reportedly loitering in the mall and refusing to leave. Shortly thereafter, as the group was said to be leaving the mall, a Metro Transit Police officer was allegedly assaulted by a “a group of individuals attempting to fare evade.”

A teen girl is facing charges after police say she threw food at an officer in Pentagon City.

The incident happened this past Friday around 5:15 p.m. at the Pentagon City Metro station. The girl started throwing food at an officer who stopped her male companion for fare evasion, according to an Arlington County Police Department crime report.

A stricter policy on banning riders from the Metro system has some leaders optimistic about better safety in Northern Virginia.

Beginning June 2, the policy will allow the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to impose longer bans on people arrested for sex crimes or assaults on Metro employees and customers.
