Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center is closed until further notice following an incident that caused the sprinkler and fire alarm system to go off.
A pipe in the ceiling of the county facility near Crystal City may have burst around 11:30 a.m. today (Wednesday), according to scanner traffic. A tipster told ARLnow that the facility was evacuated following a “sudden water gush and falling ceiling tiles in [the] diving board area.”
Damages from a burst pipe at Arlington County’s government headquarters have caused several public meetings to relocate and reduced hours at Courthouse Library.
Flooding at 2100 Clarendon Blvd resulted in “extensive water damage to portions of multiple floors of the Bozman Government Center, including the Arlington County Board Room,” county spokesperson Ryan Hudson told ARLnow.
Peter Chang Fast Casual Restaurant in Arlington — Chef Peter Chang, who has a large following in Northern Virginia, is in lease negotiations for the Oriental Gourmet space at 2503 N. Harrison Street. Waterfall on I-395 — NBC4 captured video early Thursday morning of a burst pipe underneath the 34th Street Bridge. The rupture sent a torrent of water onto I-395 for more than an hour.
