At long last, Wagamama is opening its doors.

The long-awaited restaurant, located at 2950 Clarendon Blvd, will start serving the general public on Friday, Aug. 2, a PR rep said. A private, ticketed grand opening event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Aug. 1.

Bobalicious Cafe, an eatery and bubble tea shop, opened for business at 3000 Washington Blvd in Clarendon last week.

The new cafe serves a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, coffee and other chilled drinks. “Favorites” on the menu include milk tea, brown sugar milk tea, taro slush, cappuccino smoothie, Thai tea, sea salt coffee, passion fruit green tea, lychee green tea, peach black tea, and mango slush.

Five juvenile suspects were detained by police Wednesday evening, potentially in connection to the series of thefts from the Clarendon Lululemon store.

It started with officers observing a group of teens outside of the activewear store at 2847 Clarendon Blvd, which since mid-June has seen at least four thefts involving groups of young suspects grabbing armfuls of merchandise and fleeing.

Eyeglasses retailer Warby Parker is slated to fill a vacancy at The Crossing Clarendon that was once an Ann Taylor.

The shop is likely to open in November, a Warby Parker representative tells ARLnow. The storefront at 2800 Clarendon Blvd, located near Barnes & Noble and Sephora, is currently undergoing construction.

An eight-story apartment building could be replacing an aging Clarendon office building, where a new restaurant just opened.

A development application for 3033 Wilson Blvd, filed last week by Carr Properties, calls for 312 units of housing ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments. The building across from the Clarendon Metro station would have a parking garage with 344 spaces, plus almost 7,000 square feet of retail space.

After missing its goal of a June opening, returning Clarendon mainstay Mister Days still expects to open this summer.

August is the new target for the watering hole’s grand opening at 1101 N. Highland Street, in the former Clarendon Grill and Pinemoor space.

Police are investigating another reported theft at Clarendon’s Lululemon store — at least the fourth since mid-June and the third in as many days.

Four male suspects reportedly entered the store, located at 2847 Clarendon Blvd, just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday and gathered merchandise before leaving the store without paying, an Arlington County police spokesperson said.

An eatery offering a unique option to beat the heat has opened in Clarendon.

Fantasticks, which offers custom gelato popsicles, opened last week at The Crossing Clarendon (2800 Clarendon Blvd). The booth sits in the middle of the N. Edgewood Street loop, just outside of Barnes & Noble.

Clarendon’s Lululemon store was hit by thieves twice Monday, separated by only a matter of hours, according to police.

Arlington County police responded to the store at 2847 Clarendon Blvd just after 5 p.m. after two women in their teens or 20s had entered the store, gathered up merchandise, and left without paying, a police spokeswoman said.

The UPS Store in Clarendon has closed its doors ahead of proposed changes to the building.

A series of tipsters have contacted ARLnow in recent days about the store’s closure at 3033 Wilson Blvd, next to the just-opened Láylí Mediterranean restaurant.
