The National Weather Service says gusts of up to 55 mph are expected. That could fell trees and large branches, bringing down power and other utility lines.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is inviting the community to its equivalent of a baby shower this weekend.
“Spring is baby season,” the organization said in announcing a “We’re Expecting!” community event on Saturday, which gives the public a chance to “learn about the incredible work that goes into caring for kittens and baby wildlife at our shelter.”

Rumble Outside of Bowling Alley — “What apparently started out as a dispute outside Bowlero on S. 23rd Street in Crystal City turned into a bit of a disturbance with @ArlingtonVaPD calling in reinforcements from around the county and @VSPPIO. Smishing is a type of data phishing scam that uses text messages to lure people into giving personal information. Several people have been injured, one seriously, after horses escaped on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall this afternoon, according to initial reports.
Arlington County police were initially dispatched around 2 p.m. to check along Route 50 near Courthouse for possible sightings of the escaped horses. Shortly thereafter, police were called off but firefighters and medics were dispatched to the base for reports of injuries.
