Our sources were correct — American Tap Room in Clarendon closed over the weekend.

The struggling restaurant served customers Saturday, then was closed on Sunday. A sign posted on the door encouraged customers for “visit one of our other locations” and encouraged employees to “stop by Monday or Tuesday for information on other locations and pay checks.”

A crash on I-66 this morning resulted in four reported injuries.

The crash, near N. Sycamore Street, occurred around 11:15 a.m. and snarled traffic for more than an hour. Two vehicles, including a red pickup truck, were involved.

A $1 Million Powerball Ticket Was Sold in Arlington

A Powerball ticket sold at the Ballston 7-Eleven store at 4223 Fairfax Drive matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball, in Wednesday’s drawing.

“The million-dollar ticket is the only one in Virginia to win Powerball’s second prize in [Wednesday] night’s drawing, and one of just four nationwide,” the Virginia lottery said in a press release. “The odds of matching the first five numbers are 1 in 11,688,054.”

Minor Charges for Man Who Ran from Cops — The man who ran from police Tuesday in Ballston did so, apparently, to avoid being charged with driving on a suspended license and improper registration. He’s now also facing eluding and failure to I.D. charges. The passenger in the car did not flee and is being charged with identity theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. [Arlington County]

I-395 HOT Lanes ‘Pretty Close to a Done Deal’ — A plan to convert the I-395 HOV lanes to High Occupancy Toll lanes appears to be proceeding. Thanks to promises to use toll revenue to enhance carpooling and express bus service, Arlington officials have been generally supportive of the plan so far. Arlington County firefighters are on the scene of a major gas leak in the Virginia Square area.
