A new player is entering the fitness market in south Arlington.

A Club Studio is expected to open later this year in the National Gateway complex at 3550 S. Clark Street, bringing a gym with cryotherapy services, boutique fitness classes and a “recovery lab” to the area near Potomac Yard and Crystal City.


Steps above the Rosslyn Metro station is a new food hall with hopes of becoming Arlington’s favorite destination for food, drinks and fun.

Upside on Moore debuted in late March, transforming the nearly 30,000-square-foot space of former Assembly food hall with a new slew of D.C.-area based vendors including Ghostburger, Lucky Dangr and La Michoacana.


A young writer in Green Valley got a sweet helping hand from a local lemonade vendor last week.

Nora Jacoby, 10, is the author of “The Four Princesses,” a story of princesses who share their talents to help a new friend. Last Tuesday, Nora started a lemonade stand outside her house to raise funds to cover the cost of self-publishing her book on Amazon.

Philippine Oriental Market & Deli, aka POM, is now POM and More.


A new Southwestern-style restaurant in Virginia Square is on track to open in the next few weeks.

The only items left on the to-do list for Anita’s, which has been serving New Mexican cuisine at other Northern Virginia locations for about 50 years, are minor cosmetic updates.

There’s a new sheriff’s dog in town.

Hope, a yellow Labrador retriever puppy, will serve as a “wellness dog” in the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office’s K9 unit.


A new watering hole — one boasting pool tables, shuffleboard, arcade games and other classic attractions — is coming to the Village at Shirlington.

The dimly-lit, 21-and-over bar dubbed “1969” will provide a relaxed sports bar reminiscent of a past generation, co-owner Geoff Dawson told ARLnow.
