Arlington homeowners have until next week to apply to get a free native tree or shrub this fall.

Applications for EcoAction Arlington’s biannual Tree Planting Program and Tree Canopy Equity Program close next Monday, June 23. The nonprofit plans to plant 200 trees and 50 shrubs across the county.

Snuggly mixed-breed dog Pickles McButterpants is looking for a new home and, thanks to a donation, his adoption fee is free.

A new movie theater in Falls Church is opening its doors tomorrow (Friday).

The new Paragon Theaters at 112 Founders Avenue will offer $8 movie tickets now through June 30 to welcome its first guests. The location originally planned to open over Memorial Day weekend.


The Arlington Players has launched its 75th-anniversary season with a celebration of the beloved “Peanuts” characters, who are also marking their 75th year.

Weather conditions were accommodating for two of the opening weekend performances as the group brought the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” outdoors to audiences at Lubber Run Amphitheater.
