Her daughter had been in a car accident, and the situation was much worse than a simple fender bender. At least, that’s what the mother was led to believe.
“All I knew is that she was potentially in a serious amount of trouble,” the mother said.

Arlington County police are investigating a robbery and stabbing outside of Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. Friday behind the school at 125 S. Old Glebe Road.

Arlington County is taking steps to unilaterally secure and demolish the vacant Key Bridge Marriott in Rosslyn.
The county announced Friday morning that it has declared the property at 1401 Langston Blvd a “public nuisance… due to its unsafe and unsanitary conditions.”
St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington is hosting its monthly run & walk social on June 18th (Thursday) at 6:30pm. The 3 or 4 mile run (or walk) will start in the back parking lot (off N. Stafford St.) and end at St. Agnes. Participants can enjoy complimentary pizza afterwards. Drinks are BYOB. Extra points if you wear Catholic school swag. Officials from Arlington County, the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority hosted a ribbon cutting today (Thursday) for the Boundary Channel Drive Interchange project.

A pair of reported armed robberies added to a busy Wednesday for Arlington County police.
The first happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the McDonald’s near the Rosslyn Metro station. Initial reports suggest that a woman armed with a pink gun demanded a burger.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating another near miss at Reagan National Airport.
The Wednesday morning incident, reported by NBC 4, follows the April 18 incident in which two airliners nearly collided on the ground.
The Arlington Home Energy Hub is a new resource provided by Arlington County to help residents make their homes more energy efficient, healthier and powered by clean energy. Arlington residents can now explore a new webpage with information and resources to learn about, plan for and implement home energy upgrades.
The Home Energy Coach is a new resource that provides free, virtual technical support to help Arlington residents make energy upgrades. Home Energy Coaches are available to help with any type of energy upgrade, such as installing new heating and cooling equipment, improving insulation and adopting solar energy. Homeowners can meet with a Home Energy Coach individually and renters can join a group coaching session. To get started, Arlington residents can submit an interest form online and a Coach will follow up with more information.
