A Columbia Pike pie shop is closing after next week, with plans to relocate and reopen by early next month.

Acme Pie Co. plans to close its doors at 2803 Columbia Pike sometime after Pi Day on Friday, March 14. The shop will relocate nearby on the Pike, with a goal of reopening during the first week of April, owner Sol Schott told ARLnow.

A Columbia Pike shop known for its extensive selection of wines and beers is changing hands after almost 20 years.

The owners of K-1 Beer and Wine at 2516 Columbia Pike are preparing to retire, co-owner Dae Choi told ARLnow. His mother, Bun Kim, bought the shop in 2006 and passed it down to Choi and his brother, Sang Kim, when she retired a decade ago.

Arlington County police and medics are on scene of a bank robbery along Columbia Pike.

The robbery happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Wells Fargo at 951 S. George Mason Drive. Initial reports suggest that a man in a black suit, fedora, and surgical mask and gloves passed a note to a teller and stole cash.

A man accused of carrying out a spate of armed robberies across the D.C. area — including four in Arlington — has been arrested.

Antonio Kingsbury, 36, is accused of committing at least 17 armed robberies between Jan. 9 and Nov. 7, including at several establishments along Columbia Pike, according to federal prosecutors.

A bullet was fired into a woman’s home just south of Columbia Pike, though it’s not clear who fired it.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Monday on the 4500 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. The woman heard a loud noise and called police after discovering a broken window and a damaged wall. Officers then found a bullet inside the home.
