Northbound I-395 and S. Glebe Road are reopening after an earlier closure caused by a vehicle that crashed into a propane tank along the highway.
“Units are on scene of a propane leak from a 500-gallon tank at the N. Glebe Rd exit on I-395 northbound after a vehicle struck the tank,” the Arlington County Fire Department said on social media at 7 p.m. “I-395 northbound is closed for the foreseeable future. The driver was not injured. Crews are actively working to mitigate the leak.”
A Wakefield High School student was sent to the hospital Friday morning after being exposed to fumes in a shop class.
The Arlington County Fire Department dispatched a hazmat team to the school around 10:30 a.m. after reports of people getting sick in the shop class.
Two people were hospitalized after a lunchtime crash near Ballston.

A woman crushed by a falling tree on Pimmit Run Trail last month was later pronounced dead at the hospital, ARLnow has learned.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, near the Arlington-Fairfax County border. Two people were walking on a relatively remote section of the trail when “a tree fell striking one of the individuals,” U.S. Park Police said.
