Wax sculptures celebrating Black History Month and other pieces of art are on display in two new exhibits at Pentagon City’s mall.

The limited-time installations at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City showcase notable Black figures from throughout U.S. history, as well as artwork from the Arlington Artists Alliance.

French-Asian pastries, samosas, gelato and more are “coming soon” to the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.

The mall at 1100 S. Hayes Street recently announced a slate of four incoming restaurants, with offerings ranging from masala fries to fast-casual chicken and bowls. More information on planned openings dates was not immediately available.

More than 6,000 homes and businesses were without power Friday afternoon in the Pentagon City and Crystal City area after a major outage.

The outage started around 1 p.m. There were frequent police and fire dispatches to the area for traffic complaints, numerous elevators stuck with people inside, and a report of smoke and alarms in the Pentagon City mall food court.

A vehicle carjacked on Sunday by a pair of suspects in a Pentagon City parking garage has been located.

Arlington County police said today in a crime report that the vehicle was “recovered in Washington, DC” but the suspects are still at large.

Authentic crafts and live performances will spotlight Southeast Asian cultures this weekend at a bazaar in Pentagon City.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations plans to host the ASEAN & Friends Bazaar from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.

Professional photos with Saint Nick will be available at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City through Christmas Eve (Dec. 24). Santa’s schedule varies this time of year, but he will be present for photos most weekdays from 2-7 p.m., with extended hours on weekends.

A man has been arrested and charged with brandishing a gun at a local hotel.

The incident started shortly before 6 a.m. at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Pentagon City, according to scanner traffic, and ended with an arrest at gunpoint near the Army Navy Drive side of the Pentagon City mall.

One month later, it happened again.

The Tourneau luxury watch store at the Pentagon City mall is the scene of another dramatic smash-and-grab robbery involving a group of thieves armed with a hammer and fire extinguishers. It follows a nearly identical robbery on Sept. 1 that prompted ultimately unfounded fears of an active shooter and an evacuation of the mall.

A robbery at the Pentagon City mall Sunday afternoon caused a panic that sent shoppers fleeing and prompted a massive police response.

The incident started around 3:30 p.m. after Arlington County police received multiple reports of shots fired and smoke seen inside the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. Arriving officers found people running from the mall and broken glass in front of the Tourneau watch and jewelry store.

Arlington County police are investigating a pair of armed robberies at the Pentagon City mall.

The first robbery happened around 3:45 p.m. in the mall’s parking garage. Initial reports suggest that the man was armed with a short barrel rifle and robbed the victim of a watch.

After eight months in the making, Dumpling District opened its “flagship” location alongside a new Kung Fu Tea in Pentagon City last week.

The two businesses share a space in the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, next to Häagen-Dazs on the mall’s Metro level entrance. Though Dumpling District has four other spots across the D.C. area, this is its first ever dine-in location with sit-down service.

After less than a year in business, a Latin American restaurant at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City has seemingly shuttered.

Maizal’s bright yellow exterior sign at 1100 S. Hayes Street, near Macy’s, has been removed and its interior appears to be cleared out.
