BREAKING: Police Responding to Bank Robbery on Columbia Pike

Arlington County Police are on scene of a reported bank robbery on Columbia Pike.

The robbery happened around 2:15 p.m. Initial reports suggest that a masked man armed with a gun passed a note to a teller inside the Capital One Bank branch at 3532 Columbia Pike. Afterward he fled on foot.

Update at 10 p.m. — Snow is falling across Arlington. The federal government is opening on a two hour delay, OPM announced. Arlington County government is currently planning to open on time.

Update at 6:50 p.m. — Arlington Public Schools is planning to open on a two hour delay Monday due to “possible icing conditions.”

(Updated at 3:15 p.m.) It’s not clear how they got there, but thousands of blank Virginia Lottery tickets are currently littering 10th Street N. near Clarendon.

The lottery tickets — unplayed Pick 4 and Cash 5 tickets — are spread across a five-block span of 10th Street, from N. Barton Street to Washington Blvd. They’re in the street, on the sidewalks and piled atop the medians.

Crime Report: Man Arrested for Public Lewdness in Shirlington

A man was arrested in Shirlington over the weekend after allegedly masturbating in public.

Police were called to the 4200 block of Campbell Avenue on Saturday afternoon for a report of a “male suspect allegedly touching himself inappropriately.” Officers arrived on scene and “observed the suspect continue to touch himself inappropriately.”
