Girl Scout cookie booths open next week in Arlington, beginning a season of sales at Metro stops, shopping centers and apartment buildings around the county.
The first booths will open on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Courthouse and Virginia Square Metro stations, the Giant in Virginia Square (3450 Washington Blvd) and Central Place Plaza in Rosslyn (1800 N. Lynn Street).

The Bob & Edith’s Diner location on Langston Blvd has closed for good, the business has confirmed.
The local 24-hour diner chain, ranked the No. 2 best breakfast spot in the county in an ARLnow Reader’s Choice poll, announced yesterday (Monday) that its location at 5050 Langston Blvd had permanently closed.

Yesterday’s winter storm brought quiet streets and winter fun to Arlington, even as fluffy snowfall turned to icy sleet.
Snow blanketed the streets, which were mostly empty except for the occasional car or snowplow, and iconic views, including those in Arlington National Cemetery. At the same time, local kids — who have the day off from school today (Monday) — took to the parks for sledding and other merriment.
A cafe from the team behind Sfoglina is opening in Rosslyn, in the same office building as the Italian restaurant.
Signage for the all-day cafe by Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi, first reported by the Washington Business Journal, has appeared in the lobby at The Towers at 1100 Wilson Blvd.
Two Virginia ABC stores, one in Crystal City and one just off of Langston Blvd, are closing their doors.
The first is expected to close in February and the other will close in March.
Some restaurants around Arlington and Falls Church are offering incentives for those brave enough to face the snow and sleet on foot today (Sunday).
Others made the call to close during the harsh winter weather.

A new fitness studio is hosting its grand opening in Ballston starting today, offering free classes and discounted annual memberships.
Barre3 opened its doors for the first time at 818 N. Quincy Street at 6 a.m. today (Friday). The studio is providing free classes through Sunday and “unlimited” founding memberships at a heavily discounted rate.

A Latin street food eatery in the Ballston Quarter’s food court looks to have served its last bites.
Maizal, a local chain that opened in the mall’s Quarter Market in 2019, has been boarded up. No renovation permits appear to have been filed for the space, and the brand did not respond to a request for comment.
