A pedestrian has been struck and seriously injured at a busy Ballston area intersection.
The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of N. Glebe Road and N. Henderson Road. Initial reports suggest a person on a scooter was struck by the driver of a pickup truck.
New automated license plate readers have appeared in Ballston.
Multiple readers have contacted ARLnow in recent days about new tech installed on traffic signal poles along Fairfax Drive, at the intersections with N. Stuart Street and N. Taylor Street. The devices bear the logo of Flock Safety, a distributor of police surveillance technology.

Arlington Electoral Board members on Oct. 1 voted to keep Virginia’s attorney general in the loop related to allegations of non-citizen voting.
The panel in August had voted 3-0 to turn over relevant information both to Attorney General Jason Miyares (R) and Arlington Commonwealth’s Attorney Parisa Dehghani-Tafti (D). But shortly after that vote, Electoral Board secretary Kim Phillip asked to rescind the planned notification of Miyares.

A new restaurant may soon open at the former spot of Rooftop Bar & Grill in Courthouse.
The unnamed bar and restaurant concept comes from Gary Ouellette, the owner of Union Jack’s British Pub in Columbia, Md., and formerly in Ballston. The new business has its eyes on an early 2025 opening at 2424 Wilson Blvd, general manager Brian Ouellette told ARLnow.
St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington is hosting its monthly run & walk social on June 18th (Thursday) at 6:30pm. The 3 or 4 mile run (or walk) will start in the back parking lot (off N. An Arlington program diverting people out of the criminal justice system and strengthening their social safety nets has received a $1 million federal grant.
The U.S. Department of Justice awarded the funds to support the expansion of the Offender Aid and Restoration program at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for Arlington and Falls Church.

Teen Struck on Langston Blvd — “A student was struck by a driver after school today, just after 4 p.m. on Langston Blvd near the Overlee pool. Per ACPD earlier: ‘The pedestrian, a juvenile female in her teens, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene. Police remain on scene investigating the circumstances of the crash.'”
