Grazie Grazie is preparing to open across from Hawkers Asian Street Food at 4201 Wilson Blvd. It will be the business’s third location and first shop outside D.C.

One person is dead and another is fighting for their life after a serious crash Monday afternoon at a Ballston intersection.

Traffic camera footage (below) shows a gray pickup truck traveling eastbound on Wilson Blvd before slamming into another vehicle — which had just turned onto Wilson from N. Vermont Street — around 2:40 p.m.

On the fifth anniversary of an unsolved Ballston homicide, police are renewing requests for tips as the victim’s family continues to offer a $50,000 reward.

Today (Friday) marks five years since police were dispatched to an apartment building on the 800 block of N. Randolph Street in early 2020. They found 24-year-old Scott Ratigan inside his bedroom, “suffering from trauma to the upper body.”

Arlington County police are looking for a man who brandished a gun at a woman whose car he broke into.

The incident happened Monday afternoon in a Ballston area parking garage. Police say the victim confronted the man and grabbed her wallet back from him after finding the suspect rummaging through her car.

Two people were shot in a Ballston apartment building early New Year’s Day amid a chaotic night in parts of Arlington.

Police were dispatched to the Rixey building at the Marymount University Ballston campus just after 1 a.m. for a report of a person with a gun on an upper floor of the building. That floor is used for short-term rentals by an “apartment hotel” service, according to scanner traffic.

A fast-casual Italian restaurant serving customizable pasta bowls has a new timeline for its Ballston opening.

Scolapasta has been in development across from the Ballston Metro station since February. While initially hoping to open this past summer, owner Burak Temel said the restaurant now expects to open its doors this spring.

Overwhelmingly positive public feedback greeted a $177 million plan for an additional entrance to the Ballston Metro station last night.

Dozens of residents joined representatives from developers and civic associations at a presentation on the planned entrance at the southwest corner of Fairfax Drive and N. Vermont Street.

A Vietnamese restaurant from D.C. will soon make its Arlington debut in Ballston, serving banh mi, pho and other family recipes at affordable prices.

Simply Banh Mi plans to open its second location at 801 N. Quincy Street in a few weeks, owner John Tran told ARLnow. It will replace a similar restaurant that closed at that location in February: Lee’s Sandwiches, which bills itself as the “World’s Largest Bánh Mì Chain.”

A man who tried unsuccessfully to shoplift from the Ballston area Harris Teeter later flashed a gun, prompting a large police response.

The alleged incident happened just after 11 p.m. last night (Tuesday) at the grocery store on the 600 block of N. Glebe Road.

Arlington County police responded to several serious incidents over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, according to the latest ACPD crime report.

A man was stabbed Friday morning at the Apex Apartments on S. Glebe Road. Police arrested a 50-year-old Arlington resident who, they said, knew the victim.
