After missing its goal of a June opening, returning Clarendon mainstay Mister Days still expects to open this summer.
August is the new target for the watering hole’s grand opening at 1101 N. Highland Street, in the former Clarendon Grill and Pinemoor space.
Four beach volleyball courts are now open in Crystal City as part of Club Volo National Landing, a new temporary recreational site at 223 23rd Street S.
The site is the result of an partnership between developer JBG Smith and Baltimore-based social sports company Volo Sports. The developer is set to construct high rise apartment buildings at the address, but has delayed construction until costs and interest rates settle.

An eatery offering a unique option to beat the heat has opened in Clarendon.
Fantasticks, which offers custom gelato popsicles, opened last week at The Crossing Clarendon (2800 Clarendon Blvd). The booth sits in the middle of the N. Edgewood Street loop, just outside of Barnes & Noble.
Thursdays and Saturdays at the Astro Beer Hall in Shirlington are about to get more interesting, and in some cases, furry.
The restaurant, bar and arcade at 4001 Campbell Avenue will host weekly karaoke nights and a dog-friendly Paws on the Patio series this summer.

County offices, courts, community centers and all public library locations will all close Thursday for Independence Day.

An indoor playground business is opening a location aimed at both kids and adults in Shirlington.
Scramble Parkour will be opening at 2900 S. Quincy Street, according to permits. It replaces The Energy Club gym, which closed last year amid a decline in membership.
