The Columbia Pike Movie Nights lineup for this summer has been announced.

This year’s films, screened outdoors on Friday and Saturday nights, include old-school classics like Dirty Dancing and Top Gun as well as more recent releases such as Barbie, The Color Purple and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

After a multi-week soft opening, 2910 Kitchen & Bar is set to hold its official grand opening this weekend.

Located at 2910 Columbia Pike, the restaurant serving American cuisine will officially open on Friday, May 10 and host a Mother’s Day brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, husband-and-wife owners Raheel “Ray” Khan and Griselda Giselle Fernandez plan to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday at 5 p.m., according to a press release.

The new delicatessen at 2406 Columbia Pike celebrated its grand opening last week, taking over the space previously occupied by Rappahannock Coffee. The coffee shop, a fixture for two decades, closed last year when its owner decided to retire.

A 39-year-old Arlington man with a notable criminal history is facing more charges after an incident over the weekend.

Police say Anthony Jeffers, Jr. tried to steal items from a store on the 4900 block of Columbia Pike — a block that includes a 24-hour 7-Eleven location — around 10:30 p.m. this past Saturday.

A Woodbridge man is facing a litany of charges after an attempt to flee from police ended in a crash with injuries.

Arlington County police say the 26-year-old was driving drunk around 11 p.m. last night when an officer tried to pull him over for erratic driving. The suspect drove off, according to police, and soon crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Columbia Pike and S. Scott Street.

Construction on the basement expansion has wrapped up and the owners are now adding finishing touches before the grand opening, expected in the next week or two, General Manager Chris Devenney told ARLnow.
