Several vehicles were damaged Wednesday afternoon after a woman in a vehicle that was reported stolen twice tried to ram her way out of traffic stops, according to police.

The incident started shortly after 4 p.m. in the Buckingham neighborhood.

Initial reports suggest that multiple suspects stole items from the Superdry store in the mall, then fled in a vehicle by ramming one of the mall parking garage gates.

Arlington is the third-best place in the United States for runners, according to a newly-released study.

The website SmartAsset “analyzed data for 95 of the largest U.S. cities across six metrics related to the safety, accessibility and popularity of running as well as the affordability of local housing,” a company spokeswoman said, adding that it’s the fourth year in a row that the list has been compiled.

APS Expands Student Device Program to All Grades

Arlington Public Schools is expanding its “one-to-one” digital device program to students in kindergarten, first grade and second grade.

K-2 students will be getting Apple iPads from the school system this fall, helping to assist with remote learning. APS is also buying new iPads and MacBook Air laptops to replace aging devices for older students.

After an early morning storm, Arlington is expecting more heavy rain today.

The region is under a Flash Flood Watch starting at noon. Forecasters say slow-moving storms could dump several inches of rain, potentially causing flash flooding.

Southbound I-395 is down to one lane near the Pentagon during this evening’s rush hour due to a crash.

Initial reports suggest a vehicle flipped on its roof just past the exit ramp to Route 1. The occupants of the vehicle were able to get out and no serious injuries have been reported.
