The Walk for Peace route through Arlington has been revealed as police prepare for the Buddhist monks’ arrival near the end of their 2,300-mile journey.

The monks are expected to arrive in Arlington in the early afternoon on Monday, Feb. 9 and depart for their end destination in D.C. the following day.


Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders are home on the couch this weekend, but that’s no reason to spurn the pomp and circumstance of arguably the biggest sporting event of the year: Super Bowl LX.

A Falls Church animal rescue center has received a $100,000 grant thanks to the story of an overlooked mother dog who got adopted.

Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation was one of 10 national winners of the Petco Love Stories initiative, which provided grants of $10,000 to $100,000 to animal rescues and shelters. Petco Love surprised the foundation on Wednesday with a check to support its rescue work.


At long last, McDonald’s is back in business on Langston Blvd — now with a second drive-thru lane but no Ronald McDonald statue.

Nearly a year after closing for a full rebuild, the modernized fast food restaurant at 4834 Langston Blvd officially reopened Thursday.

An expanding French-inspired cafe chain appears to have set its sights on a new location in Ballston.

Signage for New York-based Maman now covers the windows at 4121 Wilson Blvd in the Ballston Exchange. This is the former home of Greenheart Juice Shop, which closed in October, and Philz Coffee, which closed in December 2022.

An Arlington man is headed to Super Bowl LX with his hearing dog this weekend after being named the Pittsburgh Steelers’ “Fan of the Year.”

The team chose Hayden Shock, a 33-year-old employee of the General Services Administration, as its top fan last fall. Shock, who has followed his Air Force father’s fandom since he was around six years old, will be joined at this weekend’s Super Bowl by his dad, as well as Abby, his service dog.


A scholar-led lecture series based in D.C. is expanding into Arlington for the first time later this month.

Profs and Pints, which launched in 2017 and has since expanded into several other metro areas, is coming to Highline RxR (2010 Crystal Drive) beginning on Feb. 22.
