Tex-Mex restaurant La Posada is underway in Crystal City

A Tex-Mex and Latin-inspired restaurant hopes to open in Crystal City sometime early this spring.

La Posada, a new concept by veteran restaurateur Julian Giraldo, is in development at 320 23rd Street S., on the ground floor of Quimby on 23rd apartments.

More coyote sightings reported around Arlington, but naturalists say it’s now no big deal

    Snow and sleet are expected before 1pm, transitioning to a mix of snow, freezing rain, and sleet until 4pm, followed by rain and freezing rain possibly mixed with sleet. Highs will be near 33 with a southeast wind of 3-8 mph. An 80% chance of precipitation is predicted, with little to no ice accumulation and less than half an inch of snow/sleet. Saturday night will bring rain and possible sleet, turning into all rain after 7pm as temperatures rise to 39 by 3am. Southeast winds of 5-8 mph will become westerly after midnight.     Whole Foods Market hosts grand opening in Falls Church

    It was a big morning for the Little City, with the grand opening of Whole Foods Market.

    Over 100 shoppers flocked to 103 E. Broad Street this morning (Friday) to see the new 45,000-square-foot grocery store. The celebration featured free tote bags, coupons, treats and coffee for early birds, who crowded outside the shop just before 8 a.m.

    Asian fusion spot ‘Pi BBQ and Bar’ plans opening in Crystal City

    A new Asian fusion restaurant with Korean barbecue is preparing to open in Crystal City.

    Pi BBQ and Bar hopes to open by early March at 420 23rd Street S., near Restaurant Row, co-owner Scott Goodson told ARLnow.

    Gourmet toast franchise Toastique planning second Arlington location

    A second Toastique is underway in Arlington.

    The D.C.-born gourmet toast and juice franchise is making its way to National Landing, the company confirmed with ARLnow. It’s unclear at this point where exactly the cafe will open, or even whether it will open in Crystal City or Pentagon City.

    Filipino breakfast shop Lapu Lapu is coming to Pentagon City

    Lapu Lapu, a Filipino eatery offering to-go breakfast sandwiches, is expected to open this spring in Crystal City, according to the National Landing BID.

    The Gaithersburg-based shop hopes to make its Northern Virginia debut at 1417 S. Fern Street by April. Named after a national hero of the Philippines, Lapu Lapu combines Filipino cuisine with American breakfast sandwiches.
