After 14 years in business, Urban Halo Salon at 2900 Clarendon Blvd has swapped its former blue interior for white marble and gold and black tones. The changes aim to create a “timeless” aesthetic while adding fixtures to improve customer experience, co-owner Nash Noufal told ARLnow.

A 29-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly fighting police inside a Metro station.

The incident started around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday with a report of a shoplifter — described as a man with tattoos on his face — threatening employees at the CVS at 3141 Wilson Blvd in Clarendon.

Three men beat and seriously injured a driver early Sunday morning in a fit of apparent road rage.

That’s according to the latest Arlington County police crime report. The beating allegedly happened after the victim honked his horn while at a stop sign in the Arlington Mill neighborhood, north of Columbia Pike.

The annual Clarendon Day street festival is coming back next week with a full day of food and fun.

Nearly 90 shops and businesses are on track to be represented at the celebration, which will bring live music, vendors and family friendly attractions to Clarendon from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The incident occurred around 9:18 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday) at an apartment building in the 900 block of N. Ivy Street in Ashton Heights, according to ACPD’s latest crime report.

A New York-style diner in Clarendon looks to have closed after two years in business.

Signage on the door of UnCommon Luncheonette at 1028 N. Garfield Street states the restaurant is “closed today,” but the sign has been in place for multiple days. Phone calls to the restaurant, which normally opens daily at 7 a.m., also went unanswered.

A new spot for “gourmet toast” is scheduled to start serving customers later this month in Clarendon.

Toastique plans to open its doors on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 8 a.m. It is located at 3100 Clarendon Blvd, a block from the Metro station, in a space subdivided from adjacent running store Pacers.

Arlington’s second Citibank branch is scheduled to open in Clarendon by the end of the year.

“Coming soon” signs will appear later this week in the windows at 2879 Clarendon Blvd, signaling the upcoming arrival of the bank’s first new D.C.-area branch in more than a decade, a spokesperson told ARLnow.

The Clarendon mainstay, open for 17 years, will reopen in about two weeks — around mid-September — after floors, ceiling tiles and bathroom surfaces are updated, co-owner Stephen Fedorchak told ARLnow.
