The Arlington government’s updated “bike-comfort map” will rely more on available data to help bicyclists get where they want to go.

With five levels of color coding, numerical scores for each stretch of road and more prominent notices of hills, the new design builds on previous evaluations of all major roads in Arlington.


A local pizzeria with some inspiration from Indian cuisine is getting settled in Lyon Park.

The menu at Pizzato Pizza, which soft opened this summer at 2626 N. Pershing Drive, largely homes in on classic pizza place offerings, including premium and build-your-own pies, stromboli, pasta and hot sandwiches.

JBG Smith has announced a new partnership to lead operations at Water Park in Crystal City.

Ahead of the park’s one-year anniversary this past weekend, the developer announced a new agreement with Episcope Hospitality.


A Jersey Mike’s and a new CVS Pharmacy are in the works on Columbia Pike.

Both businesses are expected to open on the ground floor of Westmont Apartments at the corner of the Pike and S. Glebe Road, alongside other planned establishments including a Five Guys and a cosmetic studio.

Through kindness and painting, a local teenage artist is giving some of Arlington’s shelter pets a helping hand.

Keira Cheng, 17, is a volunteer artist for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue at 5159 Langston Blvd. The Woodson High School student has been creating portraits of the rescue’s resident cats and dogs since summer 2023, all the while advocating for their adoption via social media.


After a little over a year in business, a Ballston juice bar intends to relocate to a smaller space in the neighborhood.

Greenheart Juice Shop, a Northern Virginia-based juicery and eatery founded in 2013, closed last Friday at 4121 Wilson Blvd. The shop serving smoothies, cold-pressed juices, cashew milks and light breakfast items opened for business last September in the former location of Philz Coffee.
