Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign — ” This Thanksgiving holiday, the Arlington County Police Department is teaming up with [NHTSA] on the high-visibility Click It or Ticket seat belt awareness campaign. From November 23 to December 1, the law enforcement community will be working together to reduce the number of fatalities that occur when vehicle passengers fail to buckle up.” [ACPD]

DCA Expects 2025 Passenger Growth — Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority officials are projecting 13.2 million passenger “enplanements” at Reagan National next year, a record total and nearly 11% above pre-pandemic counts. “We have very, very upbeat airline forecasts,” Jack Potter, president/CEO of the authority, said Wednesday as the authority adopted a $829 million budget to cover operations at National and Dulles in 2025. –Scott McCaffrey

Marymount Gears Up for 75th — “Marymount University is preparing to kick off its 75th anniversary celebrations that will begin in January 2025 and last throughout the year. Strike Averted at Local Hotels — “Hotel workers at four Northern Virginia Hilton hotels voted overwhelmingly last week to ratify a new four-year contract with historic wage gains of over 19 percent… [The agreement] became official during last week’s ratification votes at each of the four hotels: Hilton National Landing, Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, Doubletree Crystal City, and Embassy Suites Crystal City.” [Press Release]

The Arlington Travel Baseball 9-under Arsenal team defeated the Mount Vernon Mavericks, 14-1, to win the local Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League fall World Series championship at Patriot Park in Fairfax.

The Arsenal downed the top-seeded Stars 9U Ritter, 7-4, in the semifinals.

Get ready for a sudden blast of strong wind gusts tonight.

After weeks of relatively tranquil weather, a cold front will bring storminess to Arlington and the D.C. area tonight. That’s expected to include heavy rain and some strong, potentially damaging winds.

Arlington Startup Acquisition — “AeroVironment Inc. said Tuesday it has reached an agreement to buy fellow Arlington company BlueHalo LLC in an all-stock deal with an enterprise value of roughly $4.1 billion. The deal will allow AeroVironment, which is a top supplier of small drones to the U.S. military, to expand its offerings with BlueHalo’s expertise in space technologies, electronic warfare, AI and other areas.” [WBJ, BusinessWire]

Ballston 7-Eleven Robbed — “At approximately 2:39 p.m. on November 18, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery… the male suspect entered the business and concealed merchandise during which an employee confronted him. The suspect then attempted to exit without payment when the employee confronted him a second time.
