Feds, Prosecutor Spar Over Investigation — “The investigation centers on Ms. Wien, 65, a retired academic who, along with others, has protested outside the home in northern Arlington where [White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen] Miller lived with his family at the time. The police say she has circulated leaflets in the neighborhood denouncing Mr. Miller and his hard-line policies, including on immigration. Former President Joe Biden had dinner Sunday night at Carbonara in Virginia Square, according to the restaurant’s Instagram account.

Stories posted by Carbonara (3865 Wilson Blvd) show Biden dining with a man who appears to be former defense secretary Lloyd Austin, though the dining companion is not identified by name in the videos.

Arlington County police are looking for a trio of teens who allegedly stole from a toy store and struck a man who tried to intervene with their car.

The theft happened Saturday afternoon at Child’s Play Toys in the Lee Heights Shopping Center on Cherry Hill Road.

Robbery Near Yorktown HS — “Three juvenile male suspects approached two juvenile female victims, all in their teens, at Chestnut Hills Park and engaged them in conversation. Suspect One then stole cash from Victim One’s hand before all three suspects ran towards the parking lot. The victims ran after the suspects and confronted them, during which Suspect One and Suspect Two shoved the victims and Suspect Two subsequently displayed what appeared to be a pocketknife before all three suspects fled the scene.” [ACPD]

Virginia’s Democratic-led General Assembly advanced a proposed constitutional amendment on Friday that could pave the way for redistricting in the state ahead of the 2026 congressional elections. That measure still needs another round of legislative approval early next year before it can go to voters.

The proposed constitutional amendment would let lawmakers temporarily bypass a bipartisan commission and redraw congressional districts to their advantage. The Senate’s approval Friday followed House approval Wednesday.

Reminder: Drive Safely Tonight — “To help spread the message that Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving, the Arlington County Police Department, in partnership with the Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), is hosting a Halloween anti-drunk driving event to highlight the impact alcohol has on motor skills. This free event is open to the public and will take place on Friday, October 31 at the intersection of N. Hudson Street and Wilson Boulevard, beginning at 8:00 p.m.” [ACPD, ARLnow]

FAA Staffing Shortage at DCA — “A ground stop at Reagan National Airport has been canceled on Thursday afternoon, but ground delays are averaging 90 minutes due to “staffing,” per the FAA.” [Fox 5, WJLA]

Robbery on Langston Blvd — “4700 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 8:00 p.m. on October 29, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business and asked an employee for cigarettes behind the counter.
